Food and packaging

This theme area focuses on optimising value chains for food products and packaging with regard to environmental and resource use.

This is achieved via a range of approaches: mapping of quantities of food waste and reasons why food waste occurs, documentation and analysis of packaging use in a life-cycle perspective, and LCA of packaging and foodstuffs as a basis for documentation and improvement. This theme area encompasses both commissioned studies and research projects at national, Nordic and international level.
